The Federal Government has awarded contract for the construction of a bridge across River Kaduna to link communities in Zango Kataf and Kauru Local Government Areas of Kaduna State, North-West Nigeria with a view to control erosion and flooding in the affected areas.
While handing over the contract documents to the construction company at the site, Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF, Boss Mustapha tasked the contractor to follow the contractual agreement.
The SGF in a message through a staff of the Ecological Project Office, Anthony Uruaka, reaffirms the Federal Government’s commitment to providing social amenities and infrastructure for the people. There are several bridges constructed at different other crossing points over River Kaduna.
The member representing Zango Kataf and Jaba Federal Constituency, Amos Magaji who is facilitating the project explained that when completed, the bridge will serve as the shortest link between Zango Kataf to Kauru LGAs.
According to the consultant of the project, Funso Facipe, the bridge is expected to be completed within 13 months.
Residents of the communities promised to collaborate with the contractors for speedy and successful completion of the project.
