The House of Representatives has passed a resolution to conduct an investigation into allegations of bribery involving the EFCC and the NCS.
The House of Representatives has passed a resolution to investigate bribery allegations against the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCS) following claims by social media influencer Martin, also known as "Very Dark Man," against both organizations.
Martin alleges that the EFCC dropped the money laundering charges against Idris Kunc, also known as "Bob Risky," after receiving 15 million naira. Additionally, he claimed that Bob Risky was housed outside the Nigerian Correctional Service despite being convicted for abuse and defacing the NCS.
However, the federal government has now suspended some senior officers of the Nigerian Correctional Service due to the bribery allegations. The Civil Defense, Correctional, Fire, and Immigration Services Board stated that the suspension allows for further investigation into the allegations.
