John Obi Mikel slams Chelsea after City loss

So, back then, it was like Marina Marina, the sporting director, you know. She was like the face of the club after Roman. She was in charge of all the transfers. The transfer was kind of between her, the sporting director, and the manager. She listened to the manager, but in the end, she made the decisions. She brought in players she thought could improve the squad - players like Deco, Michael Ballack, Shevchenko, Fernando Torres, Florent Malouda. They were big players who came to help us improve the team. As players, we knew we were winning trophies year after year, but we couldn't sustain that success. We needed players to refresh the team and help us. Looking at the current team,

I talked about Dujon Sterling earlier. I have nothing against him - it's not his fault that the club brought him in. He can't help Chelsea. Last season, he didn't get to start the game or come on, and we were looking to improve the team. Modric was on the bench but didn't come on. These players could have helped us. We've known since last season that we needed a striker who can score goals - someone like Didier Drogba. Jackson can contribute a bit here and there, but we need a top striker with Premier League experience. We don't have that. Jackson won't provide what we need. Sometimes when I talk and get passionate about it, it's because of how much I love the club and want it to succeed.

I want the club to get back to where we were. We don't want to become a mediocre team that finishes 10th every season. That's not who we are. We compete to win the Premier League, we are always in the Champions League. The longer this goes on, the more we start to get comfortable with finishing 10th, which is not what we want. We need to sign the right players, starting with a top striker to help us this season.
