NLC President, Joe Ajaero Fails To Honour Police Invitation Over Alleged Terrorism Financing

The police invited Joe Ajaero for questioning on Monday regarding charges related to criminal conspiracy, terrorism financing, treasonable felony, subversion, and cybercrime. The Letter of Invitation, signed by ACP Ado Muazu on behalf of the Commissioner of Police Intelligence, mentioned that Mr. Airo's name was implicated in ongoing investigations. The letter also warned that a warrant of arrest would be issued if Airo failed to report on that day. 

Meanwhile, the Nigeria Labor Congress has requested an extension of time for its president, Joe Ajaero, to respond to the police invitation over the allegations of terrorism financing. The letter, signed by solicitors to the NLC, stated that Ajaero was unable to honor the invitation on that day due to a prior engagement but expressed willingness to attend the interview on Wednesday, 29th of August. The NLC president also requested details and the nature of the allegations of criminal conspiracy, terrorism financing, treasonable felony, subversion, and cyber crime leveled against him.

In the meantime, members of the Union gathered at the Union's headquarters in Abuja earlier that day to show solidarity with the NLC President.
