Teenager Killed By 'Warning Shot'' In Zaria
The Nigerian Army has confirmed the killing of a teenager in Zaria Kaduna state in an attempt by hoodlums aiming to attack troops and forcing the curfew imposed by the state government.
in a statement by director army public relations Major General Onyema Nwachuku troops received a distress call on Tuesday that some hoodlums gathered in samaru in large number burning tires on the road and pelting stones and security Personnel,the troops mmediately mobilized and arrived at the scene to disperse the mob but some hoodlums attempted to attack the soldiers according to Major General Nwachuku. this prompted a soldier to fire warning shot which led to the death of a 16-year-old boy.
He also mentioned that the soldier involved has been arrested and is currently undergoing interrogation the statement also said the chief of Army staff Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja has sent a high-powered delegation to visit and condol the family of deceased.
