Barcelona is really going after Spanish winger Nico Williams, but there are conflicting reports about what the player actually wants.

 

Barcelona's pursuit of Spanish winger Nico  Williams is heating up, with conflicting reports emerging about the player's intentions.

While some sources suggest the Euro 2024 hero has given the green light for a move to Camp Nou, others close to the player insist no decision has been made. Williams, who dazzled for Spain in their triumphant Euro 2024 campaign, is back in training with Athletic Club, where he faces intense pressure to remain for at least another season. The Basque club is understandably reluctant to lose their prized asset,   especially after his impressive performances last season, where he netted eight goals and provided 19 assists in 37 appearances,  helping them lift the Copa del Rey.

However, Barcelona remain undeterred. They see  Williams as the perfect fit for their new-look attack under manager Hansi Flick and are prepared to activate his 62 million euro release clause. The Catalan giants have already splashed the cash on Dani Olmo this summer,   but are willing to go the extra mile to secure  Williams, who they view as a priority signing.

The clock is ticking, and Barcelona has set a deadline. They want an answer from   Williams before their La Liga clash against Athletic Club on August   24th. Despite the uncertainty and conflicting information, sources inside Barcelona remain confident that Williams will be wearing Blaugrana colors next week. The club is working tirelessly behind the scenes to finalize the financial structure of the deal and is prepared to go all-in for the player they see as their primary target for the left wing.
