Nobel laureate Muhammad Yunus to lead Bangladesh interim government 



 Muhammad Yunus has been appointed to head Bangladesh's interim Government after former prime minister Sheikh Hasina stepped down and fled the country in the face of mass protests against the government.


 His appointment was announced by the Press Secretary of President Mohammed Shahabuddin who also mentioned that other members of the Yunus government would be decided soon after discussion with political parties and and other key players.


Muhammad yunus is a well known as a political opponent of the former prime minister and had called for a resignation .


He was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2006 for pioneering the use of micro credit to help poor people particularly women.
