FG Unveils Metering Project Teams To Curb Menace In Crude Oil Theft 


The Nigerian Upstream petroleum Regulatory Commission has inaugurated Metering Audits and advanced cargo declaration project teams to promote transparency and accountability in the Upstream oil and gas as segment.
  

 The commission's chief executive Mr Gbenga Komolafe who disclosed this at the inauguration of the team in Abuja said the projects were designed to combat crude oil theft and boost Revenue.


Recall that the Federal Executive Council had approved a $21 million contract to audit Metering and measurement equipment in the
187 Oil flow stations in the country and also put in place an advanced cargo declaration solution.


 These initiatives as earlier announced by the minister of State for petroleum resources aimed at enhancing, monitoring and accountability in the crude oil production and distribution addressing rampant or theft.


The NUPRC boss while inaugurating, the monitoring teams announced a 4 months deadline for the completion of project.
