Hey there! Japan has just come out with some really cool new banknotes that use 3-D holographic technology to stop counterfeiting. This tech is the first of its kind for paper money and creates holograms of the portraits on the bills when you look at them from different angles. Prime Minister Fumio Kishida is super excited about the new 10,000 yen, 5,000 yen, and 1,000 yen notes.

The people on the new banknotes are all about celebrating Japanese capitalism, gender equality, and scientific innovation. The 10,000 yen bill features Eiichi Shibusawa, known as "the father of Japanese capitalism." The 5,000 yen bill showcases Umeko Tsuda, a real trailblazer for women, and the 1,000 yen bill portrays Shibasaburo Kitasato, who made big strides in studying tetanus and the bubonic plague.

The backs of the bills show off Tokyo Station, wisteria flowers, and Mount Fuji by ukiyo-e artist Katsushika Hokusai. With the world going more and more cashless, Japan still sees cash as essential for safe and easy payments anywhere, anytime. The new bills will be around alongside the old ones, and the bigger print on them is meant to make them easier to read for Japan's older folks.
