Enzo Fernandez rejoins the team and expresses his apologies to his teammates following the controversy surrounding racism.

 

 

Enzo Fernandez returns to squad & make an apology to team-mates after racism storm

For the first time this summer Enzo Fernandez joined up with the rest of the Chelsea Squad in Atlanta.

Now he apologized immediately to the rest of the Chelsea players and we're being told that apology has been accepted. 

He also trained with the rest of the Chelsea Squad and he sat down he had lunch with the rest of players, now he has also told Chelsea that he will make a significant contribution to an anti-racism charity and Chelsea have accepted that and Chelsea are also going to match that contribution too and talks are now underway to decide where is the best place to put those funds.

Now of course the background to all this is that two weeks ago Chelsea started a disciplinary process involving Enzo Fernandez after a video appeared on social media which the French Football Federation said showed him and some other Argentina players at singing a racist song that referenced the heritage of some France's black players.

One of Enzo Fernandez's own teammates Wesley Fofana who's played for France on social media said that the video was evidence of uninhibited racism.

What we've seen from Enzo Fernandez so far far is a public apology he's also apologized in private to his Chelsea teammates he's been in contact with them yesterday was his first opportunity to apologize face to face and is that the lead figures within the Chelsea Squad who were Consulting with Enzo Fernandez and also the rest of the players were Reece James and Axel Disasi now the disciplinary process at Chelsea is now closed.

Chelsea fill that the player is regarded as having been very proactive he's apologized in private he's apologized public and he's also said that going to make this donation an anti-racism charity and he's also reiterated that yes he's made a mistake he's sorry but he is totally committed to anti-racism and anti-discrimination .
