The Minister of Aviation has expressed concerns regarding the issues of begging and extortion at Nigerian international airports.

The Aviation Minister has raised concerns about the problems of begging and extortion at international airports in Nigeria.

The Aviation Minister, Festus Keyamo, expressed his dismay on Sunday regarding the ongoing issues of begging and extortion at the country's international airports by certain disreputable individuals.

In a statement on his official social media handle, the Minister voiced his concerns that the conduct of staff members begging and extorting travelers is tarnishing the nation's reputation.

He revealed that he receives constant notifications on his cell phone from concerned citizens who are persistently reporting these issues.

The Minister pointed out that "most of the agencies implicated in this problem do not fall under the Aviation Ministry's jurisdiction, even though they operate within our airports."

"Nevertheless, I have been actively collaborating with other Ministers, various branches of government, and the agencies responsible for these personnel, and we anticipate a resolution soon," he added.
