nigeria news: NBMA CAUTIONS NIGERIANS AND ISSUES URGENT PUBLIC HEALTH ADVISORY




The National Biosafety Management Agency (NBMA) is urging the general public to be cautious due to the recent cholera outbreak in some states across Nigeria.



In a statement released to journalists in Abuja on Friday, June 14th, 2024, the Director General of NBMA stated that Nigerians must be careful as Nigeria has reported 30 deaths and 1,141 suspected cases of the disease.


“It is crucial that we prioritize the health and safety of our communities as we approach the festive period of the Salah celebrations,” she said.


Cholera, a highly contagious bacterial infection caused by the consumption of contaminated food or water, has been reported in Bayelsa, Zamfara, Abia, Cross River, Bauchi, Delta,
