Pastor Enoch Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, has declared that he will no longer ignore attacks on himself and the church. He also stated that he will not engage in physical altercations to address these issues.
This was reportedly announced during a private meeting with some pastors of the church before the May Holy Ghost service.
A source from the meeting informed Sunday Independent that Pastor Adeboye is concerned about the relentless media criticism and unfounded reports concerning the RCCG.
He communicated to those present that he would bring the matter before God, the ultimate judge, to handle the situation and quiet those attempting to malign the church.
The source noted, "Pastor Adeboye avoids litigation and confrontation, preferring not to address issues as others might expect. He is patient in dealing with matters and always seeks divine guidance through prayer rather than taking matters into his own hands."
Adeboye has advised against engaging in public debates about the church, urging instead to seek resolution through prayer. He expressed his intention to pray and seek God's intervention, trusting that God will resolve the issue definitively.
Regarding the supposed suspension and resignation of Pastor Idowu Iluyomade, the source mentioned that Pastor Adeboye's compassionate nature led to a delayed response to the situation, which coincided with the birthday celebration of Pastor Siju Iluyomade during a period of national mourning for a notable church supporter.
