Fred Machoka strongly laments as he faces insults from Gen Z following the arrest of a blogger due to actions involving his niece, Gloria Orwoba.

Fred Machoka expresses deep concern as he faces insults from members of Generation Z following the arrest of a blogger due to actions involving his niece, Gloria Orwoba.

Kenyans have unleashed a barrage of insults on Fred Machoka after his niece, nominated senator Gloria Orwoba, reported blogger Edgar Wabwire to the police, leading to his arrest. Gloria has been at the forefront of ending period shame and providing free sanitary towels to schoolgirls. However, she recently angered Kenyans by supporting the Finance Bill 20224.

Private cell phone numbers of several politicians, including MPs, were leaked online, and Wabwire was arrested for leaking Orwoba's number.

Fred Machoka speaks out after Gloria Orwoba's actions upset Kenyans
In a video shared by Radio Citizen presenter Jeridah Andayi, Machoka, seated next to her in the studio, disclosed that he had a difficult week.

He admitted to being the target of numerous insults from Kenyans after his niece had blogger Wabwire arrested. "What I've endured this last week! May God have mercy on me. I was just relaxing, and then Gen Z started calling me," he said. The seasoned media personality was watching a football match when he began receiving various calls. "One called me a dog.

Others demanded that I instruct my niece to release Edgar Wabwire," he recounted. Machoka mentioned that one caller accused Orwoba of abducting Wawire, and upon checking X (formerly Twitter), he found his number had been circulated on social media.

He contacted Gloria to verify the claims, and she informed him that the matter was with the police. "I was bombarded with calls and insults too vulgar to mention on radio," he stated. "I ask Gen Z, what have I done wrong? It's so bad and annoying," Machoka expressed, adding that he was one of the first to oppose the Finance Bill 2024 and urged Gen Z to stop harassing him.
