What ancient event has been recorded in history that alerts the world to human wickedness?
Czeslawa Kwoka, Polish, 14 years old.
Killed in the Auschwitz death camp on February 18, 1943 with a phenol injection into the heart.
Shortly before the execution, she was photographed by prisoner Whilem Brasse, who testified against the executioner of Czeslawa, a woman who, before the photo, hit her in the face, as shown by the bruise on her lip.
We only see the face of a terrified little girl, who didn't even speak their language and who had lost her mother a few days earlier.
She was one of approximately 250,000 children and minors executed at Auschwitz-Birkenau.
